In the Meadow

I’m so excited to share my latest quilt design. I wanted to make an economy block quilt but I also wanted to make flying geese so I drafted up this pattern that incorporates both and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how it turned out. This In The Meadow fabric collection was perfect not only because the prints play together beautifully in this quilt block but the colour palette added some much-needed colour to this otherwise dreary season. I couldn’t get a straight-on shot of the whole quilt because the wind was insane. My fingers were still tingling from frostbite a few hours after taking the photos.

I used 18 fat quarters from Riley Blake’s In the Meadow collection to create the 36 blocks in the quilt. My favourite is the navy floral, it gives me all the heart eyes.

I used Blossom as my backing fabric as it’s the perfect shade of soft pink.

I am writing a pattern for this quilt design. Please contact me if you would like to be notified when it is released.

Fussy Cutting Sewalong

In January 2018, I joined an Instagram-based sewalong called the Fussy Cutting Sewalong organized by Naomi Clarke @naomialicec. Each month, Naomi sets a theme and each week she sets a challenge based on that theme. The sewalong consists of fussy-cutting fabric and sewing hexagon-flowers (hexie flowers) based on the specific themes and posting our creations on Instagram with the hashtag #fussycuttingsewalong so that others in the group can see what we’ve come up with. It is a very supportive group and I have learned so much along the way.

This is a collage of all my hexie flowers from the year.

Out of this World

I designed an English paper pieced quilt for Camelot Fabrics using their brand new collection called “Out of this World”. It is made up of 10 star blocks that form a ring encircling the adorable unicorn found on the panel print.

This was such a fun project to work on. I wish I could be at Quilt Market in Houston this weekend to see it in person. If you’re lucky enough to be there, make sure to visit Camelot Fabrics in Booth #800 to see it.
