I’m so excited to announce that I have joined the PFAFF® Ambassador Program! In my over 25 years of sewing, I have always used a PFAFF sewing machine. You can read a little bio about me below and my relationship with this brand.
I have been sewing for over 25 years. I started when I was in art school in the ‘90s and wanted to learn to sew a collection of artistic hats. My mom taught me the basics and I was hooked! I learned to sew on her top-of-the-line PFAFF® machine, and I experimented with all types of fabrics: cottons, corduroy, vinyl, leather, fleece, repurposed thrift-store clothing — you name it, I made a hat out of it.
Once I started my family and had babies, my sewing attention pivoted towards baby clothing and accessories. I filled their room and wardrobes with handmade one-of-a-kind items. We would get stopped on the street by strangers asking where I bought my baby gear and then I realized there was a market for it. So in 2006 I started a company called Small Potatoes, selling unique baby clothing and accessories. I still operate this company today.
I quickly realized that mom’s old sewing machine was not powerful enough for the amount of sewing I was doing, and I bought a PFAFF 2023 Classic Style Fashion, which was a real work horse and I put it through the wringer. It never failed me and I worked with it almost daily. I used that machine for over 12 years.
However, in 2017 I discovered a love of quilts and started making and designing my own quilt patterns. After making dozens of quilts I realized that I needed a machine with a larger throat space that could accommodate the large quilting projects I was doing. Last year I splurged on a Performance Icon, which has been a dream to quilt with.
Now… I’m excited to announce that I have become the newest member of the PFAFF Ambassador program. I’m so excited to start sewing with my brand new Quilt Expression 720. I am looking forward to sharing my quilting and sewing journey with you and I hope you enjoy watching along.
