My Unicorn

My son and I took my latest quilt on an outing to Assiniboine Park (Winnipeg, Manitoba) to enjoy some sunshine and the first signs of spring melt. Being a teenager he was loathe to stand around with a quilt in the park with, like, actual other people nearby but he soon came around and got right into it and was even making suggestions of where to shoot next.

I used the fabulous My Unicorn collection designed by Kelly Panacci for Riley Blake Designs. The pattern is the Even Stephen quilt by Kitchen Table Quilting.

In the background is the Assiniboine Park Pavilion. With its Tudor style architecture, it feels just medieval enough to be the perfect backdrop for this fabric. The close-ups are in the adjacent Children’s Garden, a playground created with natural and eco-friendly materials.
